International Health Care Exhibition and Public Health Awareness Programs

Ayurveda-Expo (Indigenous Medicine) and Arogya (Western Medicine)
Participated the International Health Care Exhibition on 26 – 28 .07. 2019 at BMICH, Colombo organized by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka and other Government Institutions.  The overall objective of the exhibition was to showcase the high standards of healthcare in Sri Lanka and the future potential that the industry can offer both locally and internationally.

Research Symposium to Promote Research in the System of Traditional Medicine

A one day research symposium organized by the Provincial department of Ayurveda, central Province on 25.06.2019 at the Post Graduate Institute of Science (PGIS) auditorium, University of Peradeniya with the collaboration of University of Peradeniya, to promote research in the system of traditional medicine. 12 research professors and experts were contributed as resource person and shared their insights in research to commence research in the different fields of Traditional medicine. 138 participants from different disciplines as university lecturers, medical officers, research students, private entrepreneurs and traditional physicians were participated

Provincial National Oil anointing ceremony

The Provincial national oil anointing ceremony organizing by the Provincial Department of Ayurveda, Central Province annually, at Sri Nada Thewalaya, surrounding of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, with the guidance of the Provincial Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine. This year the oil anointing ceremony was held with participation of the Governor of the Central Province, Hon. Maithri Gunaratne and the other high officials.  Specially the ceremony further highlighted by the sponsor of the S-lon Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd.

‘Suwa Jana Setha’ - Governor’s special mobile service

Special mobile service ‘Suwa Jana Setha’ organize by the Governor of the Central province, Hon. Maithri Gunaratne, expecting to provide service to the public in remote areas, with the assistance of the other Government institutions of the Central province. Recently a mobile service has organized at Hatharaliyatha. Provincial Department of Ayurveda, Central Province has participated and provided preventive and curative care services. In addition, ‘Nanu packets’ handed over to the Governor by the Provincial Commissioner of Ayurveda, Central Province, to issue to the public through the Divisional Secretary. Secretary of the Provincial Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine was participated in the function.

Felicitation ceremony to the Traditional Physician Mr. Weerasinghe Mudiyansalage Rambanda

Felicitation ceremony to the Traditional Physician Mr. Weerasinghe Mudiyansalage Rambanda initiated by the Community Health Medical Officer, Walapane Dr. S. T. P. Fernando to honor his service and the ceremony coordinated by the Social service officer, Walapane Mr. Manoj Keerthisinghe. The ceremony jointly organized by the Officer of the Community Health Medical Officer, Walapane, Rural Ayurveda Hospital, Nilthandahinna and the Divisional Secretariat, Walapane. The ceremony was held at Divisional Secretariat Walapane on 21st March 2019 headed by the Divisional Secretary Walapane, Mr. I. M. Senanayake with the participation of the Provincial Commissioner of Ayurveda, Central Province Dr. Dammika Abeygunawardena.

Opening of the Ayurveda Central Dispensary Nuwara Eliya, Office of the Ayurveda Community Health Medical Officer, Nuwara Eliya and Rest house at Shanthi pura, Nuwara Eliya

The Ayurveda Central Dispensary, Nuwara Eliya, Office of the Ayurveda Community Health Medical Officer, Nuwara Eliya and Rest house were declared open by the Governor of the Central Province, Hon. Maithri Gunaratne to the public on 26th February 2019 at Shanthi pura, Nuwara Eliya.  Former Secretary of Provincial Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine, Central Province and current Secretary of State Ministry of Health, Nutrient and Indigenous Medicine Mr. B.M. Nimal Balasooriya, Provincial Commissioner of Ayurveda, Central Province, Assistant District Secretary, Nuwara Eliya and Divisional Secretary Nuwara Eliya were participated in the opening ceremony.

Opening of the Ayurveda Central Dispensary, Laggala and Office of the Ayurveda Community Health Medical Officer, Laggla at New Green City, Laggala

The Ayurveda Central Dispensary, Laggala and Office of the Ayurveda Community Health Medical Officer, Laggala were declared open by the Minister of Health, Nutrient and Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka Hon. Dr. Rajitha Senaratne to the public on 08th January 2019 at the New Green City, Laggala. The Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Nutrient and Indigenous Medicine, Sri Lanka, Mrs. Wasantha Perera, Former Secretary of Provincial Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine, Central Province and current Secretary of State Ministry of Health, Nutrient and Indigenous Medicine, Mr. B.M. Nimal Balasooriya, the Commissioner of Ayurveda, Mr. K.D.C.S. Kumaratunga and Provincial Commissioner of Ayurveda, Central Province, Dr. Dammika Abeygunawardena were participated in the opening ceremony.

Opening of the Office of the Community Health Medical Officer, Naula at Naula

The Office of the Ayurveda Community Health Medical Officer, Naula was declared open by the former Minister, Provincial Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine, Hon. Bandula S. B. Yalegama to the public on 14th June 2018. The Provincial Commissioner of Ayurveda, Central Province, Dr. Dammika Abeygunawardena , Community Health Medical Officers and the staffs of the Provincial Department of Ayurveda were participated in the opening ceremony.
